Just 1 Page didn't get an Eagle.
I hate you all.
Only joking !
Back to business.
JUST 1 PAGE 3
In this update:
0) paper view
1) don't just sit there DRAW something
2) what do with your spare tenners
3) the 24 minute comic
0) Thanks to the League of Extraordinary Mikes
(Allwood and Conroy) for the mention in the latest CI.
Also, keen-eyed comics fans in Wandsworth
may have seen me in the South London Press...
As I presented £800 to the Trinity Hospice
(plus £200 worth of comics to sell at events and in their shops)
1) In case you missed it, Just 1 Page is a magazine featuring comic art donated by a range of pros, ams and hamfists - in my case. The original art is auctioned for charity via the magic of eBay, and any profits from the magazine also go to charity.
Just 1 Page 3 will be launched at the comics expo in Bristol 13th-15th May 2005
The theme for next year will be BEST BATTLES and TOP TEAM-UPS.
Any variation on the theme will be welcome.
(Don't wait for an invitation!)
This year's charity is Childline.
2) To allow more profit from the magazine this time, we are inviting people to sponsor a page for just a tenner. You get to put your name, website or shop address on the page.
And you get your copy of the magazine at no extra cost.
Additional schemes are available:
(£20 if you want to choose which page your ad goes on, £50 if you want a colour page)
3) Extra special event for J1P3 - THE 24 MINUTE MINI COMIC
At the second ever UK Web & Mini Comix Thing, 19th March in Stepney, London
http://www.ukwebcomixthing.co.uk/
an attempt will be made on the World Record for fastest comic collaboration.
A minimum of twenty four artists will each produce a page of mini comic in 24 Minutes !
Attendees at the event will be invited to be story suggestions into a hat, which will then be randomly assigned to the brave contributors ! (The suggestions, not the hat.)
The finished story (which will be coherent, funny and "interesting") will be printed and sold during the day, making it the world's fastest ever comic anthology.
You should go to the UK WCT, and so should your friends.
If you do a comic yourself, you want to book a table now !
If you want to take part in the 24 minute comic, let me know.
There will be a facsimile of the 24 minute comic in Just 1 Page 3, but the only way to get the original is to Get To Stepney.
Only joking !
